Photographs for sale
The Friends of St Cecilia's Hall have a large number of photos of instruments in the collections, of which those sent with technical drawings are a small part. High-quality prints and electronic versions are available for sale. Photos of instruments acquired in the collection's early days, with catalogue numbers beginning 43--, have been scanned from negatives or transparencies and are sold as high quality digital prints, black-and white or colour. Photos of more recent instruments, with catalogue numbers beginning 44--, are all digital and all colour. The listings explain which are which. For most 43-- instruments, we still have negatives or transparencies. For a few instruments , we have photographs of the decoration, some taken by amateurs, some by professionals. If you wish to buy photographic prints or slides, if you are interested in reproduction rights, or if you want decoration photos, please write to publications @ stceciliasfriends.co.uk. (no spaces – they're intended to thwart automated emailers). All photographs are printed on A4 sheets but they are trimmed and the sizes as sold are not standardised. Photos are listed in alphabetical order of type (clavichords, then double-manual harpsichords, then single-manual etc) and within each type, mainly according to an old cataloguing system, for the convenience of the publications section. The search function in your browser should find specific instrument names and catalogue numbers or drawing numbers. We can normally provide photos on CD. Details in the price list. *Pictures that are supplied as part of the package with technical drawings are marked with an asterisk in the listings*. Please note that we do not carry stocks of photographs, except, sometimes, those supplied with drawings, so they may not be available at hall prices. |
